Carvers Harbor

In the summer of 2017 I was fortunate to have received an artist's residency in Vinalhaven Maine. Vinalhaven is off of the coast of Rockland and is Maine's largest island. There are so many painting possibilities on the island, not the least of which is right in the center of town at Carver's Harbor. Vinalhaven is a lobster fishing community, and the boxy shapes shown on the dock are lobster cages. They are kind of an iconic symbol to me of the town.
